Scrap my Car - UkScrap.com Case Study

UkScrap Ltd, is a UK-Based company providing matchmaking and lead generation services at a national level.  SourceGuardian were approached to see if the SourceGuardian encoder could protect a system they had developed in-house in order to pass it to their own agents and resellers, protecting their intellectual property.  This system, providing a lead-generating service for scrap car and scrap metal dealers, was developed in-house using PHP and provided the complete tools to automate the process of matchmaking - therefore making the agents life easier.  Using the SourceGuardian PHP Encoder software, UkScrap.com has been able to charge licenses for their software which are set to renew on a yearly basis.  For this, they took advantage of the code protection as well as the domain locking and time limit licensing that is built-in as standard with SourceGuardian.

Scott Christie, Managing Director of UK Scrap Ltd, commented: "Without SourceGuardian we would not be able to distribute the software that we had built internally and therefore our business would not have grown over the past year.  Through the benefits of protection we have been able to increase our business by another 40% using agents and partners"
